Training Course “Youth and EU”

About project

Project “Youth and EU” include one Training Course that sill will be hosted in Belgrade, Serbia in January 2016 and will gather youth workers from 10 different youth organisations from European Union and Western Balkans. Aim of project is to prepare youth workers and empower involved organisations to debate, discuss and promote EU citizenship, European values, integration, enlargement, active participation of citizens in EU and decision making process within EU. Participants will be able to run local and international activities with young people concerning this topics and issues. Project will result with innovative approaches to process of participation of citizens in reforms and integrations of Western Balkans. Project will incite discussion about rising islamophobia in EU and involvement of European citizens from EU and Western Balkans in radical religion conflicts worldwide. Integration of countries from Western Balkans and Turkey to the EU definitely raises question regarding inter-faith dialogue as never before, and this project will prepare youth workers from all around Europe to address it.

Venue and accommodation

Hotel Elegance is a three star hotel located 6 km from city center and Belgrade main bus and train station. Participants will be accommodated in same sex 3 or 4 bedrooms. All rooms are equipped with towels, hair dryer and air condition.

How to arrive from Airport to Bus and Train Stations in Belgrade and Zeleni Venac (city center)?

  • From the airport you can take public bus 72 to Zeleni Venac (500 meters
  • from Bus and Train station). Ticket cost is 150 RSD, and you can buy ticket from the driver.
  • From Zeleni Venac you can take public bus 95 directly to the hotel. (see the map) Ticket cost is 150 RSD, and you can buy ticket from the driver.
  • Alternative transport from airport is by A1 mini bus. In front of arrivals take mini-bus A1 going every 20 minutes toward Main bus and train stations. Timetable and map are on the link-

Price of ticket is 300 RSD (app 2.5 EUR and it is sold by bus driver). Please exchange some EUR to RSD in arrival hole of the airport on right hand side after Customs check point.  Bus and Train Stations are on first stop of A1 after bridge over Sava river.

 

How to arrive from Bus and Train station to Hotel Elegance?

From main Bus and Train station you should go to Zeleni Venac bus stop or Republic Square by foot (5 minutes) and then take bus 95 from Zeleni Venac or 96 from Republic Square. (Please see maps)

 

Visa informations

Citizens of EU member states and ex-YU states can enter Serbia with valid ID card. Citizens of Turkey and Albania need valid passports, but visa is not needed.

 

General Travel Information

The organisers will reimburse of your travel costs from your home city to Belgrade. Organisers will reimburse 100% of eligible travel costs up to the limit. Reimbursement  of  travel  costs  will  only  be  done  upon  full  attendance  in  the training programme and presentation of the original tickets with boarding passes and receipt/invoices. Missing tickets will not be reimbursed. Reimbursement  will  be  done  in  EURO,  regardless  of  the  currency  indicated  on  your  ticket  and receipt/invoice.

Note:  Please DO NOT BUY any tickets before approval of the organisers!

Note: If you plan to travel outside the official project dates you need approval by NGO Centar savremene politike, first. Please contact us at: contemporarypolicy@gmail.com.

Following the guide lines of the Erasmus + programme the travel back must be realized by the participants on direct way within maximum 2 days. In case of longer stays or indirect travelling (holiday travel etc.) there is no chance of reimbursement of travel costs.

Please note if you bought your ticket in your local currency which might be different than EUR, we will calculate your travel costs according to the exchange rates from official European Commission web-site for the month of ticket purchase http://ec.europa.eu/budget/inforeuro/index.cfm?Language=en

Limit for participants from Albania, Macedonia, Slovakia and Croatia is 180 EUR.

Limit for participants from Bulgaria, Belgium, Italy and Turkey is 275 EUR.

Limit for participants from Spain is 360 EUR.

 

Other informations

Preparation for intercultural evening:

  • There will an Intercultural evening on 2nd evening. Participants are expected to create interesting, interactive and creative intercultural evening with goal to fight prejudices and stereotipes about their country/community/culture.
  • Be aware that there are no kitchen facilities available (don’t bring food that requires cooking)
  • Bring food, drink, promotional materials and whatever else you want to present

The local currency is the Dinar (RSD). 1 EUR = 119.20 RSD

Payment in EUR is possible somewhere, but it is illegal. Exchange office can be found everywhere, but please do not change large amounts of money in exchange offices at the airport and train/bus station, because exchange rate can be low.
